Installation
This guide explains, in the simplest terms, how to install the Webixso plugin on your WordPress site and connect your account.

To follow the steps visually, use the video below. If it does not load, open it directly on YouTube.
Step 1: Create a Webixso account and connect your social profiles
Before you can post to social media, you need a Webixso account and must connect the social profiles you want to post from.
- Sign up: You can create a free account on the Webixso website.
- Free forever tier: With the platform’s free usage, you can publish up to 15 posts per month at no charge.
Step 2: Connect social accounts to Webixso
To send content from your WordPress site to social media, first add the channels you want to use in your Webixso dashboard:
- Log in: Sign in to the Webixso dashboard with your credentials.
- Integrations: Open the Integrations section in the left menu.
- Add account: Click Add account next to the platform you want (Instagram, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, and so on).
- Permissions: Approve all application permissions shown by the social platform.
- More detail: For platform-specific connection steps, see the guides under Social account management.
Step 3: Install the WordPress plugin
You can download the official Webixso plugin from the WordPress.org plugin directory. Pick one of these three installation methods.
Option A — From the admin dashboard (recommended)
- Log in to your WordPress admin.
- Go to Plugins → Add New.
- Search for Webixso.
- Choose the plugin by developer webixso; click Install Now, then Activate.
Option B — Download from WordPress.org
- Go to wordpress.org/plugins/webixso. Use the Download button to download the plugin as a
.zipfile. - In WordPress, use Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, select the zip file, then click Install Now and Activate.
Option C — FTP or file manager
Upload the plugin folder to /wp-content/plugins/webixso, then in the admin go to Plugins and click Activate for Webixso.
Step 4: Connect your site to Webixso
After installing the plugin, connect your site to your Webixso account:
- In the WordPress left menu, open Webixso → Settings.
- Click Connect with Webixso; you will be sent to webixso.com. Approve the connection on the consent screen. Sign in or sign up first if needed.
- You should return to your WordPress site. When you see a success message like Your site is connected to Webixso, the connection is complete.
Step 5: Add social accounts to your site
To use the profiles you connected in Webixso inside WordPress, use the plugin’s Accounts screen. The flow is: add accounts in Webixso first, then attach those accounts to WordPress from your site’s admin. To do that:
- In the left menu, under Webixso, open Accounts or My accounts.
- Click Add your first account or Add account.
- Choose which connected profile to use for this site and add it.
There is no limit on how many accounts you can connect; add as many as you need.
Step 6: Customize account settings
After adding an account, you can set share text, design, and automation the way you want.
- In WordPress, go to Webixso → Accounts (or My accounts).
- Click the gear icon to the right of the account you want to edit. A settings panel opens.
Editor — what gets posted?
Here you build the title and body text for social posts using shortcodes. Examples:
| What you need | Example shortcode |
|---|---|
| Post title | {title} |
| Post URL | {url} |
| Excerpt from the post (e.g. first 30 words) | {content-30} (other lengths may be available with similar codes) |
For all options and tips, see WordPress plugin features.
Share with a design
You can link visual designs you created in the Webixso dashboard to this account so shares look more consistent. Select the design you created in the dashboard in the relevant fields.
Automatic sharing — which posts go out?
You can narrow automation here: only posts in the categories or tags you choose are shared through this account; other posts are not affected.
Share timing — when to send?
- Share immediately: When the post is published on the site, it is also sent to the social network.
- Queued daily limit: Posts go into a queue and are published up to your daily cap (for example, at most 3 per day). Queued shares are usually spaced about 30 minutes apart for steadier distribution.
With these settings you control which content goes to which channel, when, and how often.
